Our North-American colleagues often have their DEM's in feet format. But RAMMS is calculating everything in meters.

Here is a short guide on how to convert feet DEMs into metric DEMs:
  1. Convert your input data (e.g. x,y,z files) into a regular raster

  2. Adapt the height: multiply your z values in your DEM raster with 0.3047 (feet to meter)

  3. Reproject your raster from the feet coordinate system (e.g. State Plane Zone 1) to a metric coordinate system (e.g. UTM 8 NAD83)

  4. Export your raster to an ASCII grid

All these steps can be done with a GIS system such as ArcGis.

Just carefully define the correct coordinate system of you input data.
